What is it?

ICSI is an assisted reproduction technique that involves injecting sperm directly into the shell of the oocyte.

How does it work?
  • This is a more specialized lab procedure that overcomes the limitations of traditional IVF.
Points to consider
  • The technique cannot solve problems of interaction between male and female gametes.
  • ICSI is considered in cases of premature ovarian failure, ovulatory dysfunction, endometriosis, diminished ovarian reserve and unexplained infertility.
